I paint in oils, but also enjoy using pastels, pen & ink, acrylics and watercolours for landscapes and other subjects. My studio is open all year, by appointment. Please park next to the church to avoid congestion.


I first started painting when I was working for the Forestry Commission, in Bourne, after leaving school. Three years later I was "called-up" for National Service which, suprisingly, led to a career in the Royal Air Force. I subsequently ran art clubs in Suffolk, Gloucestershire and Germany. Unfortunately, I had to take early retirement, after becoming a permanent wheelchair user, in 1991. I have painted almost continuosly since moving to Scothern in 1992. In general, subjects for my paintings are taken to recall memories of places that I have visited. When possible, I paint outdoor sketches from life, using acrylics, and then return to my studio to produce finished paintings in oils. I regret that I can not open my studio on the 8 / 9 May, but a selection of 20 of my paintings and prints will be on display, just around the corner, in the Bottle & Glass Restaurant and Lounge, in Scothern.
